The FC22 Force Load Cell Sensor is a medium-range compression force sensor designed to overcome traditional cost and performance limitations, enabling new market opportunities. It features normalized zero and span for easy interchangeability and is thermally compensated to maintain accuracy across temperature variations. At the core of the FC22 is TE Connectivity’s proprietary Micro fused technology, which uses micromachined silicon piezo resistive strain gauges fused with high-temperature glass to a stainless steel substrate.
This design eliminates the use of age-sensitive epoxies, ensuring long-term stability in both span and zero. Unlike conventional designs that rely on pressure capsules within gel-filled cavities, the FC22 directly measures force, avoiding issues like lead-die fatigue failure. Its low-strain operation provides superior resolution, high overload tolerance, and virtually unlimited cycle life.
Optimized for cost-efficiency, the FC22 is ideal for high-volume OEM applications, with the option for custom designs from TE’s Load Cell Engineering Center. For lower or higher force ranges, the FS20 and FC23 models are recommended, respectively.
